Karate black belt Tyrone returned to his primary school on Monday (30th Nov.2009) to give a motivational presentation.
At the age of nearly fourteen Tyrone is currently World, European and British Champion. Tyrone's presentation was to show the children that sport not only keeps you fit but aids in self discipline and confidence.. Tyrone was accompanied by Sensei Marie from Kaizen Ryu karate club who have classes in Bow, Bethnal Green and Dagenham. Apart from a well appreciated speech he showed the children and teachers a range of self defence moves and a kata that has won him many titles. The Headteacher of St Saviour's Primary School; Mr Barry Porter said "it was great to see Tyrone again and amazing to see the progress he is making both academically and in his chosen sport. He is both an inspiration and role model to the children. There has been some very good feedback from those that attended". Tyrone will be doing more presentations around schools in Tower Hamlets and Bexley.
Tyrone said "it was a great experience to return to my primary school and to talk to the young ones and encourage them to take up a sport whether it be karate or another sport".
