At Kaizen Ryu we like to recognise and reward students for their efforts and commitment.

This is an opportunity for the club to give something back, and for the students to train and see some high level martial arts with other karate-ka in a vibrant and exciting environment.

This year we are privileged to have in attendance Miss Emma Elmes; a professional martial arts performer and actress.

Divisional Heats & Winter Finals 2011

The Kaizen Cup is an exciting Invitational Tournament bringing together top quality students from around the country.

Divisional winners from Winter 2010 and Spring 2011 are entered into the Finals against this year's Winter divisional winners.

Medals fro 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places. Trophies for Cup Winners. Certificate of Recognition for all competitors.

Yamaguchi Goju Kai Competition

On Sunday 20th February, two Yudansha squad members and their team of coaches and family, headed off to the Yamaguchi Goju Kai tournament in Grays, Essex. 

This competition was a junior kumite only tournament, and both kumite fighters; Tyrone Briscoe and Gina Boot were able to represent the club at this event. Gina made her debut for the first time at this competition, entering the girls 3^rd kyu above + 40Kg division against some very talented kumite fighters. 

Despite the long wait the pair stayed focused and by 3pm they were on the mat.

Kaizen Cup

Competition held at Dagenham Park School, Dagenham. The day saw the new Team Kaizen took an impressive 9 Golds, 3 Silvers and 7 Bronze Medals! 

Black Belt Grading

November 2009

The last club grading of the year was held on 29th November 2009 in Ilford, Essex, and was attended by students from dojos across East London and Essex. Kyu and Dan grades were attempted by many within Kaizen Ryu Karate, and watched by parents who came to support the day.

Well done and congratulations to all that passed!
