Our Chief Instructor has been training in karate since 1962 and is a direct student of Shuji Tasaki 9th Dan. He represented the late world famous Gogen Yamugachi 10th Dan for more than 20 years. He has trained in Japan annually since 1967 and is the highest graded non-Japanese student in the world for JKF Goju Kai  Karate. He has the rank of 7th Dan JKF Gojukai, 8th Dan Goju Ryu Karate Do Seiwakai and is President of JKF Gojukai Europe. He is also the only non-Japanese member of the Board of Directors of Japan Karate Do Federation Goju Kai.

Our instructor team are all trained to the highest standards. Each one has his/her Black Belt registered in Japan, is qualified as an instructor as well as being CRB checked and insured.

We are a family club and take students from 4 years old. Our oldest members are over 65 and we have a good mix of all ages.

Training Fees

We have two training fee options; Option 1 is £40 per calendar month. This flat payment covers you to train as often as you want each week for no additional charge.

Option 2 is £25 per calendar month. This entitles you to train in one class a week.

Most clubs charge around 6 or 7 pounds per session, or even more in some cases. We believe that this is excessive, especially as the average student trains 2 to 3 sessions a week and more serious ones 4 to 6 times a week. By offering great value for money we want to encourage you to practise, so you can progress further and faster in your karate.

Payments are normally made via direct debit at the beginning of the month so you don’t even have to worry about bringing money to class.

Furthermore, all new students are allowed to train in their first month at the discounted rate of up to £20. You pay £10 a week for the first two weeks. The rest of the month is then free! This gives you the chance to settle into a decent routine that you’ll continue after your first month, when you simply choose which Option you want to take in class.
