At Kaizen Ryu we like to recognise and reward students for their efforts and commitment.

This is an opportunity for the club to give something back, and for the students to train and see some high level martial arts with other karate-ka in a vibrant and exciting environment.

This year we are privileged to have in attendance Miss Emma Elmes; a professional martial arts performer and actress.

She has been featured in a number of Music Videos, Films and TV Shows including CBBC and Britain's Got Talent. Her skills and list of accolades are something to be admired, and gain inspiration from. She is renowned for her extreme flexibility... and her incredible 'scorpion kick'!

The Kaizen Cup is an exciting Invitational Karate Tournament bringing together top quality students from around the country.

This year over 200 competitors from clubs across Southern England came and competed in this two part tournament which is held annually.

The last club grading of the year was held on 29th November 2009 in Ilford, Essex, and was attended by students from dojos across East London and Essex. Kyu and Dan grades were attempted by many within Kaizen Ryu Karate, and watched by parents who came to support the day.

Black Belt International Training Weekend

21^st & 22^nd November 2009

In the early hours of Saturday morning, bleary eyed and only just out of their Friday night Gi, four Karateka and two of their relatives set off on the 200 mile journey to Bradford. Indy Sensei, Marie Sensei, Chris Sensei, Tyrone Jnr, Pauline Briscoe and Fiona Seth represented the club at this year’s incredibly enjoyable event at the Hilton Hotel.
