Fun, fun, fun in the sun, sun, sun!!!

The wettest, most miserable weekend since records began? As Louis Armstrong once famously sang “I don’t care what the weatherman says, when the weatherman says it’s raining he’s talking absolute rubbish” (sorry, Louis –ed).  I digress, but could the threat of a biblical deluge dampen spirits at this year’s summer training camp?

A newly refurbished Crystal Palace was the scene of this year’s Balfour Beatty London Youth Games Karate competition. With its good facilities and central location, “The Palace” was an ideal venue for one of the most prestigious events on the Karate calendar.

History has shown that the East London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Tower Hamlets have all had major success at the games, with these boroughs achieving winning streaks in previous years. 2009 would be another year following the form book.

Redbridge won the outright trophy for the boys’ competition; with Havering and Waltham Forest in 2^nd and 3^rd, while Havering took the girls’ competition comfortably over Redbridge; Richmond coming 3^rd.

The Kaizen Cup is an exciting Invitational Karate Tournament bringing together top quality students from around the country.

 Divisional winners from the Summer Heat qualify for the Cup Finals, straight after the Winter Heat.

Gradings

• Gradings usually take place every three to four months. Your Sensei will give you more details when they determine that you are ready to attempt your next grading.

Squad Training - 'Yudansha' Senior Team

• Saturdays 1pm - 4pm. By Invitation Only.

Open Tournament Training - 'Team Kaizen'

• Saturdays 1pm - 3pm. Pay-As-You-Train or Pre-booking for a discount.
