Young Tyrone Briscoe was joined by his parents; Pauline and Tyrone Snr, his grandmother and Sensei Marie Anonuevo, at this year’s Civic Award, where he picked up an award for the Civic Recognition of Outstanding Achievement.

The London Borough of Bexley's Council Chamber was filled with some very special guests last night (25 February). Dedicated individuals and organisations were joined by family and friends as they were officially recognised for their local voluntary work and outstanding achievements, at this year's Civic Recognition Awards.

All the winners were nominated by members of the public or the local groups they help."

The week in review 1st March

"Rod Martin Sensei 4th Dan; seminar series & guest examiner"

The self defence master class series which was recently held on 28th Feb & 1st March went extremely well with an excellent turnout. There was a tremendous buzz during the sessions on "learn fight moves from kata" and it was a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of the Goju Ryu system. Sensei Rod wishes to pass on his thanks for all the support. He was extremely pleased with the enthusiasm and the standard of the students.

Well done to all those who graded at the Club Grading on Sunday 1st March. Special recognitions for our new junior black belts; Gina Boot and Rian Branton.

Well done!

This meeting has been organised by Tyrone Briscoe Snr. for 2pm.

An incredible opportunity to meet the Mayor of Bexleyheath, who has shown an interest in the hard work, efforts and achievements of the Squad. He has personally invited all members of the Kaizen Ryu National Squad, their families and their coaches, for tea and biscuits!

A great chance to talk about where the Squad is going and the work of the Kaizen Academy.
