Big congratulations to the Great Britain team who went to Poland at the end of last month to represent their country at the FSKA Karate World Championships over a long weekend competing for three days.

The championships, which was held in Karpacz, in the province of Lower Silesia Poland, was a very hard and well fought event, testing Kata and Kumite against the best in the World. Teams from USA, South Africa, Japan, Kazakhstan, Ireland, Ukrain and many more from the Eastern Block were there, 30 countries in total. Our representatives brought home an impressive haul of medals; one Gold, four Silver and a Bronze. Molly Ullah who trains in Bow won a gold and silver medal at the tender age of 11yrs old. Emmie Brown, Marie Tanabalan and Vicky Phillips won Silver in Women's Team Kata, narrowly missing out to the Ukrainian Women's team and Marie also won Bronze in the individual Kumite and Silver in individual Kata.
