Junior Team of the Year 2008!

Congratulations to the club's National Squad for winning this prestigious award at last night's Canary Wharf Sports Personality of the Year Awards!

Kaizen Ryu sent twenty representatives, made up of squad members, parents and coaches to attend this Gala Award which was held in East Wintergarden at Canary Wharf. It was a night to remember, from the glittering table centres, to the dramatic venue it was held at, to the various people we met, the atmosphere, the commaraderie, the food and of course winning!

There were many special guests who attended; Tony Cottee (previous West Ham player), Mayor Mohammed Abdullah Falique (tower hamlets), representatives from the David Beckham Academy, Billy Wingrove and Jeremy Lynch (Britain's got talent) to name a few.

I think what most of the kids in the room would remember were the superbly executed 'tricks' that Billy Wingrove and Jeremy Lynch performed for the audience.

Overall it was a good night out, celebrating the achievements of both young talented individuals and the dedication of groups and volunteers from all sports.
