Last weekend's competition saw local club clinch a triple victory at the AMA International Competition held at the prestigious Ponds Forge International Centre in Sheffield.
Tyrone Briscoe, Gina Boot and Jacob Willmore are part of Kaizen Ryu Karate elite squad that regularly trains at Mile End, Bow and Bethnal Green. They took part on a two day karate tournament that had competitors from across Europe including Ukraine, Romania and Malta. The AMA International all styles karate tournament always proved to be a very tough competition, with the Kaizen trio competing in Kata (pre-arranged forms) and Kumite (fighting). All three were on top form and opened their tournament season this year with three podium places; ONE Silver (Tyrone) and TWO Bronze (Gina and Jacob).
Tyrone said  "after competing last year I knew it would be tough but i improved as last year i managed a bronze" .

Tyrone Briscoe (18yrs) and Gina Boot (16yrs) are part of the TKF Great Britain Team and will be putting their skills to the test against many athletes abroad. The 30 strong squad are set to compete at competitions in Sardinia, Italy (April), Sendai, Japan (July) and Hungary (October) this year. The weekend's competition has given them ring time experience for these up coming tournaments and hope to make their country proud with more podium places.
